This week our art project was beautiful in both the message, and the results! We drew pictures of things we used to do with our loved ones who passed away on coffee filters. Once completed, we dipped them in water and watched them change. The end result was to let us remember that though memories can fade, they are still beautiful!
RECENT ART PROJECTS
SUPPORT WEAVINGS We talked about the strongest person/people who supports each child in their lives which was written on the white paper. From there each child wrote what things that person provided them with in terms of support and wove them together to show how much stronger something can be with love and support. EMOTION GRIDS Each child folded their paper into 3 or 4 sections. They were instructed to decorate each section with the 3-4 emotions that they feel the most often with patterns and colors that corresponded to their feelings.
WHAT WE SEE/WHAT WE SHOW We folded each face in half and wrote INSIDE and OUTSIDE on each half. We then had everyone draw what they let others see, and what they keep hidden within themselves. We discussed why we keep some things hidden, and who we allow to see those emotions.
